We actively provide

Our goal must be symptom-oriented and longtime cost-effective provision, even if that means to initially choose the more expensive version. This will prevent misuse which, in the long run, would lead to extensive corrective measures at best or re-provision at worst which would be twice the initial cost.

The staff at the claims processing department cannot be blamed in these cases since they rely on the respective professionals, they reimburse, to request the correct equipment and help. We can, of course, always argue about the levels of compensation and the corresponding effort put in. This does not exempt us from our responsibility towards our patients to always take care to improve their everyday life to the best of our abilities and to not leave apparently useful equipment unused because not all their life's circumstances were considered when they chose it. Our contribution to a cost-effective and efficient provision entails counseling both equipment and health care providers. The foundation for professional care lies in an extensive analysis of a patient’s needs and social environment.

Close cooperation between orthopedic/rehab technology and therapeutic care provides the starting point to achieve our set goals as well as the most optimal economic and everyday life result for our patients. It is for this reason that equipment adjustment is discussed and implemented with our facility’s physical- and ergo therapists and the medical stores responsible for their provision. An important part of this is the documentation of all applications, sent to health care providers by our therapists.

Because of the cooperation with several medical stores and rehabilitation providers over the last years, we were able to build a large team of like-minded people. Alongside the classical therapeutic equipment provision, we are also working together with ReWalk (www.rewalk.com) to offer their services.

“ReWalk is a wearable robotic exoskeleton that provides powered hip and knee motion to enable individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI) to stand upright, walk, turn, and climb and descend stairs. The system allows independent, controlled walking while mimicking the natural gait pattern of the legs.

ReWalk offers two systems - ReWalk Personal 6.0 designed for all day use at home and in the community and ReStore Soft Exo-Suit intended for use in ReWalk certified training centers.” (Source: www.Rewalk.com)
